MCAB X

MCAB X will be held February 8 and 9, 2008 at Saint Arnold Brewing Company in Houston, Texas and hosted by the Houston Foam Rangers. Entries are due February 1, 2008 and must be dropped off or shipped to DeFalco's in Houston, Texas. Entry fee is $7 per entry and checks must be made out to Houston Foam Rangers. I understand that the notifications were significantly late for MCAB X and I take full responsibility for the situation. Due to the lack of adequate time to re-brew some styles, MCAB X will allow Qualifying Brewers (QBs) to enter an alternate category. If you have qualified for MCAB X, do not have an example of your qualifying style(s) and would like to take advantage of this exception please contact me at the email or phone number below. NOTE: You can still only enter ONCE per category won.

Since the QBs have proven themselves in one of the Qualifying Events (QEs) by getting a gold medal, I assume they are exceptional brewers and should be able to enter MCAB X in an alternate category if they do not have an example of the style in which they qualified. Only entries in MCAB Qualifying Styles (BJCP Categories 1-19 and 22) will be accepted.

Original notifications went out via email on 12/24/07 to those who I had contact information submitted to me by the QEs. The Palmetto State Brewers Open data was incorrect in that transmission. The corrected information is on the Qualifying Brewers List Page. The remaining QE have submitted the QB data which is also included on the list. New email notifications will also be transmitted by 1/10/08. I do not have complete and/or accurate contact information for every brewer. So if you think you have qualified for MCAB X please contact me. If you know of fellow brewers who may have qualified, please direct them to this site or have them contact me.

I would appreciate your assistance in salvaging MCAB X and not waste the efforts of our exceptional event hosts - The Houston Foam Rangers.

I do apologize for mismanagement of the event this year and causing a significant delay in the brewer notifications and advertising of this event.
