For one thing, it's part of giving entrants their money's worth.  And as an MCAB QE, you're no longer a local competition, you're a prestigious national competition.  As such, your entrants expect you to perform.

Again, some QE's occur pretty close to others.  Because of that, it's important that the serious competitors get their score sheet feedback quickly in order to help them prepare for subsequent QE's.

If you have your medals or other awards custom engraved or otherwise custom-made, you can defer sending medalists' score sheets until the awards are ready, but that should be specifically explained in advance on your web site, and the approximate expected delay should be stated.  Non-medalists' score sheets should be mailed promptly.
