  Keys to success: Sanitation is the first step; practice, knowing your system and being consistent with it; good fresh ingredients.   
  History:
We started brewing in 1996.  Entering competitions in 1997.  Making mead in 2003.  Started with extract kits, quickly to partial mash then to all grain.  Bottling got crazy, so started kegging and filtering.  Over time have taken over 75% of the unfinished basement for brewing, storing and consuming homebrews.

Opinions:
Listen to your fellow brewers - best way to learn in my opinion.  Share brew days with others to learn from and teach others. Enter competitions; they're the best way to get honest feedback about your efforts.
